Phu Quoc Island Vietnam is among the most beautiful beach for holiday in Vietnam. Located in the southern part, Phu Quoc belong to Kien Giang Province of Vietnam which is close to the Thai Land Gulf. 1.     Lounge on the beaches in Phu Quoc Island

Located in the far south of Vietnam and surrounded by crystal sea of Gulf of Thailand, enjoying the beaches is of course a must when in Phu Quoc. It is likely that there is no answer for the question what is the best beach to lounge on, because there are too many beautiful ones and you never can go wrong.  

The first one to name in the top list might be Long Beach (Bai Truong). Long beach was regarded as one of the most pristine and unspoiled beaches by ABC news in 2008 and one of the top 100 most beautiful beaches of the world by CNN in 2013. Stretching 15 km from Cua Can to Ganh Dau Cape in the west side of Phu Quoc with a wide range of services from local restaurants, bars to luxurious clubs and premium international brand resorts, this beach is one of the best places on the island for sunset. In addition to the soft white sand beach, the beach also accommodate various water activities such as swimming, surfing, jet skiing, and so on.

Unlike Long beach on the west, Sao beach on the east side seems more quiet with only a few restaurants and hotel scattering along the beach. But they are still well equipped with umbrellas and lounge chairs so that you can enjoy the calm water and peaceful sun bath here. 

Situated in the north west of the island, Starfish beach was still hidden to tourists and only discovered late 2019. But not long after that the beach has become one of the musts in the checklist of travelers. The beach lies in a picturesque local fishing village named Rach Vem. It is featured by the floating seafood restaurants and clear water dotted by thousands of red starfish.  

2.     Hop on the longest oversea cable car with nice view of Phu Quoc Island Vietnam


 

Phu Quoc cable car is amazingly 8 kilometers long, connects Phu Quoc Island with Thom (Pine apple) islet. This is the longest continuous 3 cable aerial car system in the world. The journey begins at  1 station, which ís so-called Vietnam Colosseum by local people. During the 15 minute ride, you will be amazed by breathtaking panoramic view of the turquoise sea below. And waiting for you on Thom Island is a fantasy waterpark, emerald beach, coral reef sightseeing point, and sumptuous seafood restaurants.

Sure, it might be a little touristy, but it's hard to argue with the stellar views aboard the Phu Quoc Cable Car. Just opened last year, this is the longest non-stop three-rope cable car in the world, stretching roughly 5 miles in length. 

The ride begins on Phu Quoc island at a quirky Roman-theme station, then soars above the islands and coral reefs below. 

After about 15 minutes, you can hop off at Hon Thom island (aka "Pineapple Island"), south of Phu Quoc, to explore the lush Hon Thom Nature Park and lounge at the beach.

3.     Immerse in wildlife at Safari 

Spanning an area of 380 hectares in the primary forest in the north of Phu Quoc island, the park is home to over 150 species from different regions around the world. This is the first and only semi-open zoo of Vietnam, which is ideal for animal lovers and adventure seekers. Visitors can pay some extra for an open electric car to be able to enjoy the most atmosphere and to be closest to the nature and animal. But you also can take the free bus to drive around the huge wild forest, because there would be more chance to be enclosed to the animals such as feeding giraffes, elephants, and especially enjoying the water shows. 4.     Cruise to the islets for snorkeling

Ho Quoc is the largest Buddhist Pagoda on the island. Lying right on the stretch of coastal road of Phu Quoc, the pagoda offers tourists a stunning view of ocean harmonizing with blue sky. The pagoda also draws attention for the majestic intricate bronze dragon carving with 2 long stair cases spreading along. Climbing the stairs, you will enjoy the best view of the sea together with listening to pure sounds from giant bell on the top of pagoda.   

8.     Visit Phu Quoc Prison

It was built in 1949 by French colonists to imprison and torture around 40,000 Vietnamese soldiers and political prisoners during the American War. The prison was declared a national historical site in 1995 and opened to the public to visit. The exhibitions will help to visualize vividly brutal punishments as well as the war crimes.
